Here, while imagining the evening scenery of the lake and the story of the two people,
You can create your own original ring that is one of a kind in the world.
The accommodation is located in a renovated historic storehouse. "Yado no Kura Hug"
Stay in a quiet space in this place related to Khan and Setsu.
A memorable creative experience combined with
Enjoy a special trip to Matsue.

This is a special project that allows travelers to enjoy both a "stay" and an "experience" while tracing the memories of the two people who lived in Matsue.

  • Experience creating your own original jewelry (ring) at the "Experience-based Metalwork Studio Kotori"

Right next to "Yado no Kura Hug" is the studio of "Experience-based Metalworking Studio Kotori -Kotori-".
The location of the workshop is said to be the former home of Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo).

Yakumo's works include many depictions of Lake Shinji, scenes from Matsue, and the hustle and bustle of the town, including an episode in which he was captivated by the sound of his geta sandals clattering across the wooden bridges of the time. The beautiful Japan that Yakumo loved and was fascinated by may have originated in this place.

There are also records of Yakumo meeting his wife Setsu at the inn, so this is also the place where the couple first met.You can spend time immersed in making things while gently imagining the scenery the couple gazed upon.
  • "Yadonokura Hug" is a charming accommodation facility that has been renovated from a historic storehouse.

Yakumo and Setsu, the well where the story began
~Memories of the water they shared in their lives~

The well adjacent to the Hug Inn is said to have been used to draw water when Yakumo and Setsu lived there.

When Naniwa Ryokan was founded in 1918, it was also used as the inn's well.
During the Showa period, a building was added to the storehouse and the site was turned into a parking lot, so now only the remains of the well remain.
The remains of this well, a reminder of the past, are a quiet testament to the story of Yakumo and Setsu and the history of the inn.
*This plan does not include meals.
  • Spend time with the pine trees that Haan and Setsu gazed upon - Haon Namion, the exclusive lounge for hotel guests

A lounge available only to guests staying at the hotel. "Haon wave sound"
Along with the view of Lake Shinji that spreads out from the window, you can also see a single pine tree that still stands.

This pine tree has been passed down as a tree that Lafcadio Hearn and his wife Setsu, who once lived in Matsue, looked at every day and held dear to their hearts.
Surrounded by the calm lakeside air, it's a moment to reflect on the scenery that has remained unchanged through time.
Enjoy a special, quiet and relaxing time during your trip.
*You can enter the garden when using the "Experience-based Metalworking Studio Kotori."
